Samsung unveiled smart glasses with Gemini and Android XR.

The company aimed to make the device as similar to regular glasses as possible, so it doesn't have a built-in display. The hardware is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 platform, and user interaction is handled by a camera, microphones, and built-in speakers. Gemini's artificial intelligence will be able to recognize objects, analyze information around the user, translate speech in real time, assist with navigation, and read messages. The claimed battery life is up to 9 hours, and the included charging case provides up to 7 additional charges. The device weighs 50 grams. The glasses can be controlled using voice commands, touch controls, and gestures. A dedicated LED indicator lights up when the camera is turned on, and the wearer detection system is designed to stop recording when the glasses are removed. Samsung partnered with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker to create the design, so the new product will be available in a variety of frame styles. Sales of the smart glasses are expected later in 2026, but the exact price has not yet been disclosed.
