Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Webxet.com ("we," "us," "our," or "the Site") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our platform. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. 1. Information We Collect 1.1 Account Information When you register, we collect a username and password (stored securely, never in plain text). Email address and phone number are optional and may be used for account verification and communication if provided. You may also choose to enable two-factor authentication for additional account security. 1.2 Profile Information Information you choose to add to your profile — such as display name, date of birth, gender, city/location, bio, avatar, and cover photo — is collected and displayed as part of your public or friends-visible profile, depending on your privacy settings. Date of birth, if provided, is also used to power features like your Zodiac sign and age-related calculations. 1.3 Location Data If you set a city for the Weather, Azaan (Prayer Times), or Qibla Direction features, we store the associated coordinates (latitude/longitude) and, separately, your selected timezone. This location data is used solely to calculate location-dependent results for those features and is not shared publicly or used for tracking your real-time whereabouts. 1.4 Content You Create This includes feed posts, photos, comments, forum topics and replies, blog posts, private messages, chat messages, and any files you upload (books, music, downloads, and similar). Uploaded files are stored with randomized filenames to reduce the risk of unintended exposure. 1.5 Private and Personal Data Some features are strictly private by design. Your Notebook entries, for example, are visible only to you — never shown on your profile, never shareable, and never accessible to other members or to site administrators through the normal admin interface. Private messages (Mail) are visible only to the sender and recipient(s) of a conversation. 1.6 Wallet and Points Data If the Site's wallet, points, or rewards features are enabled for your account, we store your balance and transaction history in order to provide those features. 1.7 Technical and Usage Data We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Site, including IP address, browser and device information, session/login timestamps, and general usage patterns (such as streak/activity tracking and profile view counts) needed to operate and improve the Site. 1.8 Cookies and Session Data We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences (such as light/dark theme), and maintain session security (including CSRF protection). You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect your ability to use the Site. 2. How We Use Your Information We use the information we collect to:
  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Site and its features
  • Create and manage your account, and verify your identity where relevant
  • Display your profile and content to other members according to your privacy settings
  • Power location-dependent features (Weather, Azaan, Qibla) using the city you provide
  • Send account-related communications (verification, password resets, notifications) where you've provided contact details
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, abuse, and security threats
  • Improve and develop new features based on aggregate usage patterns
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. 3. How Information Is Shared
  • Public or friends-visible profile and content is shared with other members according to the visibility settings you choose.
  • Staff and moderators with administrative access can view content necessary to moderate the platform (e.g. reported posts), but do not have access to strictly private data such as your Notebook entries or the content of your private messages beyond what's needed to investigate a specific report.
  • Service providers — such as our hosting provider and, if configured, email/SMS delivery services — may process data on our behalf solely to help operate the Site.
  • Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required to do so by law, or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect the safety of our users, or protect the rights and property of Webxet.com.
We do not knowingly share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. 4. Data Retention We retain your account information and content for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide the Site's services. If you delete your account, we will remove or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required for legal, security, or legitimate operational reasons (such as fraud prevention). 5. Data Security We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including password hashing, CSRF protection, randomized upload filenames, and optional two-factor authentication. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. 6. Children's Privacy The Site is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action. 7. Your Rights and Choices Depending on your account settings, you can generally:
  • Access, review, and update your profile information at any time
  • Control the visibility of your profile and content through privacy settings
  • Delete individual pieces of content you've posted
  • Request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us
If you are located in a region with specific data protection laws (such as the EU/UK's GDPR), you may have additional rights regarding your data; please contact us to make such a request. 8. Third-Party Links and Services The Site may link to or integrate with third-party services (for example, login via a third-party account, or links to external websites and news sources). This Privacy Policy does not cover the practices of third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies separately. 9. Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. 10. Contact Us If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or your personal data, please contact us through the Site's support or feedback tools.
